ARTIST STATEMENT
While studying in England I was asked to take ten pieces of metal
and alter, convert, distort and destroy them. This seemed to be
a simple task, but proved to be the most influential I was ever
given. My current work reflects that influence and explores the
relation between form, function and practicality. Working primarily
in silver, I fabricate and form my pieces using traditional and
non traditional jewellery techniques which I learned while studying
at The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. While my pieces are
not always immediately obvious, each one has a place, a purpose
and/or a function.
